How the eighteen entries were chosen, what they are based on, what they leave out, and how a mistake is put right.
How hotels are chosen
Each section holds houses that share one plain trait: a reused building, a winter season, a resort complex, or a compact repeated unit. Within a section the order is fixed and carries no judgement. A house is included because it is open and because enough about it is published to describe it honestly.
Which sources are used
Hotel and operator websites come first, then maps and official planning or heritage material, then press and reference coverage. Where two sources disagreed, the entry keeps only what both support. Where nothing could be confirmed, the sentence was removed rather than hedged.
What is not on this site
No prices, no star grades, no room counts, no scores, no reviews, no booking or partner links, and no promises about weather, access or availability. Nothing is sold here and no hotel pays to appear. The tone is meant to be flat, because the point is the information.
Reporting a mistake
If an entry is wrong, out of date, or describes the wrong address of a chain, please write in. Corrections are made in the entry itself and the whole entry is read again before the change goes live. The address is on the contact page.
